A horrible collision yesterday has sunk the classic NY 30 yacht, 'Amorita'. Amorita is one of the most photographed and beautiful yachts belonging to my friends Jed and Bill.

Salvaging begins today... My thoughts are with Jed and Bill.

Oh my. How awful. I know their 6-meter once got Tboned in a race, but it didn't sink. From what I know about them, they'll take this as an opportunity to rebuild and make a new chapter in her history.

J and I had no idea. We were all out on Shelter Island racing lasers. He is calling them now to get the skinny.

I just hop0e everyone is OK. I just left Jed a message. Of course, she is made of wood and they will rebuild. I'll be up there for this week/weekend and will fill you in.

Yes.. Absolute tragedy... I've spoken with Jed a couple of times, and have tried not to make him relive the story just yet... Just trying to support him...

It's amazing how much of a loss they must feel... Glad we're all supporting them right now.
